Question by cavviecath: GIfts for bridal party and groom's party?
I am getting married in 7 weeks and unsure who we need to buy "thank you" gifts for.
We have bought for bridesmaids, flowergirls, usher, best man, father of bride. Do we need to buy for both mother's?? I know this is tradition as in most wedding the mother/mother-in-law have contributed and helped with all planning. In our wedding we have financed everything ourselves and I have planned it all. I don't want to break tradition if buying for mother's is the norm.

yeah, i would buy them something too. but if you didn't plan on getting them a gift, i'd just do something small! maybe a pretty pic frame for a wedding pic or pay for their manicures the day of the wedding or something.

Yeah I would definitely get them something. Even if they havent really contributed financially they have probably helped planning, support when things have gone wrong, etc. Even just being happy for you and agreeing with you marrying your future hubby (a lot of parents dont). You could just get them a nice bouquet of flowers or something to acknowledge their efforts
Congrats!!
i am in the same position…we have finaced the wedding ourselves and have had no imput from either mothers apart from my mum listening to be complain about things going wrong and his mum lending me her wedding tiara.,,,stil you dont have to spend alot. i am buying them both bracelets made from mine and my h2b birthstones as a momento of the day, they are made from crystals and only a tenner each.
you give a clothes for your both mother, therefore you must give different clothes and other no problem
I am getting engagement photos and put them in a frame for the mothers.
Give them a tub of cottage cheese, cotton buds, and some flowering spring bulbs.
Hope this helps.

At most weddings i’ve been to the mothers just get flowers. That’s what we’ll be doing in July.
we also bought for the whole wedding party, and got both mums lovely bouquets delivered to the reception.
and if you know what colours they are wearing you can co-ordinate with that
