Question by .: Grr i hate bridesmaid dress shopping, anyone else agree?
i thought bridesmaid dress shopping was a ginormous waste of time today.
First, one of the bridesmaids wasnt there so how could we even make a decision
Second, one of the bridesmaid's vanity is getting in the way, god forbid she doesnt look fat in the dress she'll prolly only wear once
Third, the wedding is only 4 months away, i dont wanna end up spending spending heaps on some dress ill wear once,cos it was the only thing we could find at the last minute, i really would rather spend it on the actual wedding gift-wouldnt that be better
Last, i dont care if the bridesmaid dress makes me look fat, itll make the bride look even prettier. Plus the reception is only at a golf club where the bride and groom are paying 35 dollars per person for food, so not exactly fancy. The church and the reception are 40 minutes apart by car.
Anyone else agree bridesmaid dress shopping suck?

That’s why I went with some parameters on choosing a dress in a certain color from one designer. Everyone was given choice and I didn’t have to listen to any of the complaints. Ahhh! Much easier!
How about you rebel against mankind and turn up to the wedding in your birthday suit???
im not just at that stage yet but my 4 bridesmaids are all sizes and ages so it prob will be hard to please every1, anyway its your day so they should remember that!! lol why not get all the bridesmaids dresses from yourbridalstore or some other online company, they will do any design in any colour, you can pick colour and they pick what suits them!! and this site is cheap too!! x

But amen sister, I’ve had a hard time finding ones too. I’m considering just giving them a color swatch and say “find a dress, formal length, thanks for playin”.
Omg I LOVE bridesmaid shopping for my 6 bridemaids, It gives me a chance to bond with them and also for them to share the excitement that I’m feeling for my wedding. Call me soppy but i love it haha!
We had a blast shopping for my bridesmaids’ dresses. We went to David’s Bridal, I told them I wanted them in Apple red and then we proceeded to have them try on a couple different styles, found one that looked good on everyone and was only $ 100 and called it good.
I’m sorry but you sound like a very undesirable bridesmaid to me. “Plus the reception is only at a golf club where the bride and groom are paying $ 35 per person for food, so not exactly fancy.” If they have 120 guests, that’s $ 4200 in food (that’s $ 1200 more than my entire wedding budget and my wedding wasn’t cheap looking at all), and fyi a lot of very nice, very fancy weddings/or receptions are done at golf clubs/country clubs. Yes you might only wear the dress once, but still its not about that, its about standing up there and being a witness to for your friend who thinks you’re pretty special and wants you up there. Most of my bridesmaids didn’t really get me gifts which was totally fine because them standing up there was gift enough.
