Question by a55witbrowneyeswun: How can I access a FREE public database that shows marriage records?
I need a database that tells lists marriage records. Problem is when I googled it, numerous websites came up and all of them wanted me to pay. I'm pretty sure there is a site that lists them for free. I know what state the record may be in but not the county. Thanks ya'll! :)

Most states have a website where you can look up public court records. I would start by going to your local government website and browse until you find family court or you could enter "marriage certificates" in the search area of the site and see what comes up. You could also call the county courthouse during regular hours and ask them. Don't pay a website for this. If you do your own research, you will find what you want and marriage records are public record. These sites that want you to pay are anticipating many people who just don't know where to look, or are too impatient to find it themselves.
