Question by Grant A: My 7 on 7 flag football team will be playing a man down this week and I'm trying to figure out what defense?
what defense would be best. I mainly want the opinion of people familiar with flag football who have encountered this situation. We usually run a 2-4-1 zone (two rushers) with great success but clearly rushing two now will leave us very vulnerable
thanks in advance!

I would run a 2-3-1 with the 1 being a FS. 3 covers your middle and runs/passes to outside. 2 should rush a certain side too that you all know about, that way you can push the offense to a certain side, contain with 3 and the 1 can pick off balls thrown deep.

Well it depends on the league rules and your talent. If the QB can run at any time with out being rushed.
    Then I would say go to a 1 3 2. But make it look like a 1 4 1.
    (1) acts as a QB spy. (4) 2 at CB that run with the deepest man on there side of the field. 2 in the middle that play middle but roll to the curl flats. And (1) the guy who looks like he playing safety acts as a robber playing the true middle.

    It work for us anyways.
