Q&A: Can’t attend a wedding? Gift?

Question by brownhairgreeneyes82: Can't attend a wedding? Gift?
I can't attend a good friend's wedding. Do you think it would be a nice gesture to send dome flowers to the house on the day of the wedding or maybe have some champagne and chocolates or flowers put in the bridal suite for the bride and groom?

Has anyone got any other ideas as i would like to do something even if it's a little something!

Thanks

Whatever you said, make sure it's something the bride and groom can use. The groom may not have a use for flowers.

Champagne and chocolates, or a nice bowl of fruit, or a box of their favourite treats/cupcakes, with a card telling congratulating them on the big day and saying sorry you won’t be there, is a nice touch. There’s no need to go overboard – the gesture and good wishes are enough.

i think it would be a nice gesture, you clearly want to give them something.champagne and chocolates in the bridal suite – flowers don’t interest a guy

I wouldn’t bother with the flowers to the house on the wedding day as they won’t get the benefit. Something nice in the bridal suite sounds like a lovely gesture-bubbly and chocs is always a good idea-you could maybe send a frame with a nice photo of you and your friend too. If you have one of the three of you then even better!

I would send a card with money in it. The bride and groom will all ready have flowers. The money they can put towards something they need. I would send $ 50.00 since you will not be attending the wedding.

I would maybe ask the bride if you could send muffins & juice to the wedding party the day of the wedding early in the morning for all to enjoy on you?

Flowers the day of the wedding may not be a big hit, they wont be at home at all to enjoy them the next few days, I know breakfast & lunch is a big hit to the wedding parties who have no time to get it on their own, and if you did that, it wouldn’t cost you too much for a few dozen muffins and a couple gallons of orange juice & the bride would be thankful that little portion was taken care of and she didnt have to worry about it!!

    Just a thought!
