Question by : URGENT!!! What do I get for a bridal shower gift?!!?
A good friend of mine is a bridesmaid at her sisters wedding which is in 3 weeks time. They are going to 'Go Ape' (activity climing centre) for her Bridal Shower on sat and they had a space left as somebody backed out so my friend invited me. I have said I will go and I really look forward to it but I am not sure what to get the Bride!! You get the bride a present at the shower don't you? What sort of thiing should i get her as i have never been to a shower before and i dont really know her THAT well. we meet like once a year or so but never really that much. i dont really know what sort of thing she likes and dont have pics etc of her as i am not really a close friend. i am also 19 and she is like nearly 30 so yea...any ideas?? i only found out i was going tonight and i only have 3 days left to buy her a gift!! Thanks a million.xx

Some ideas:
-Set of wine glasses and a bottle of wine (optional).
-A wedding cake server set
-Does she have a registry – get something off of that
-2 really really nice champagne flutes for toasting at the wedding – you can put “cheers to your wedding” on the card
Talk to your good friend that is a bridesmaid. She knows the bride well enough to help you chose a gift.
I’ve been in a similar situation. I gave her a pair of unique wine glasses.
Get her something from her gift registry, they have it for a reason. You do NOT have to spend $ 50, like someone else suggested. Just get her something simple and thoughtful from her registry or if you see something nice (dish towel set & hand cream, nice smelling organic type candle…) don’t get her anything personal since you don’t really know her, she will understand and completely understand.
A $ 50.00 gift card would be nice, and easy for you too so the bride to be can pick what she needs. Have a wonderful time at the shower and wedding too. Congrats to the Bride and Groom.
You so do not have to spend 50 dollars on a bridal shower gift, especially since you weren’t originally invited!! I would say anywhere from 20-30 dollars is perfect. I agree that you should look for something not too personal on their registry. You could add your own touch to it to make it cute! For example, if they have a teapot on their registry, get the pot and add some fun flavors of tea to the gift. Be creative. She will probably love anything you get her.
Random gifts are always kind of fun too. She will probably be getting a whole bunch of things from her registry for her house or apartment. You could get her a movie, popcorn, pop, candy, etc and then put a note on it and say that even married people need to have a date night! Oh! Fun thought, you could actually get them the movie ‘Date Night’! Good luck! And have fun!
