Question by smurfinizer: Where should I stay on Lake Tahoe in the middle of October?
Looking to Honeymoon to Lake Tahoe and neither of us have been there or know anyone who has. Where would be a nice relaxing place to stay where we could be right on the lake and have access to good food and some entertainment. We would also like some hiking and even some biking. We don't need the flash of the south side's casinos or night life.

Well here's the first tip. Winter starts in Tahoe at the end of September and ranges until about May, so biking and hiking are kinda out. You might hit a nice week or you might get snow, it's hit or miss. If you hit snow, normally most of the ski resorts don't open until Thanksgiving weekend. I really only know about the North Shore, though the South shore has some really nice hotels within a skip of the lake, and casinos.

In Incline Village, NV on the north shore is the Hyatt and that's the nicest hotel I've been to.
