I like this song! I wanna listen again!!
@postiesince89 paid in cash..? why did it happen, their label was sony/bmg..theyd just done their 12singles in a year92. sounds the sort of thing if they were still on reception records.
Just watched this on the 7th anniversary of John Peel’s passing with a big big smile on my face.

Gedge is God……still
Went to this festival in brighton a few weeks ago which David Gedge organised and he was actually in with the crowd the whole time it was on and taking photos and such, didn’t have the courage to go over and talk to him but he seemed like a really nice guy. Cinerama, Summer Camp and Badly Drawn Boy also played that day. It was really fun!
Brilliant memories. Saw them at Maryport, Manchester and Washington DC.
thumbs up if you played this song at your wedding
@RelativeBadger Indeed, i was listening after several drinks..
@FrancoAC – Surely you must know ‘that’ I hate what I’m doing NOT ‘what’ I hate what I’m doing.
Surely you must know what i hate what i’m doing?
Saw these last year at the same venue i saw them when i was 18 in 1989. Still brilliant. Shame not to see the original members but Dave is ace, great humor and still in touch with his fans. What a great band.
P.S. CUD supported them back in 89, another great band… ah, the old days
This video looks SO much like the This Charming Man video
@MrRedmagpie
I have met him and you are completely right. The adoration he welcomes on stage completely disappears when he steps off.
@ukpunk1 He SOUNDS like Morrissey.
Fantastic original lyrics
@ukpunk1 Ithink Moz would not appreciate that one
A great track by a largely unknown band fantastic
i remember seeing them at exeter uni, december 1992, i actually heard them as i was on a first date with the girl that would later become (my now ex) wife. we listened to them in the bar of the students union, however after the gig finished-and i swear this is true-we were still talking and drinking when i said to jo, “see that bloke at the next table, being given all that money? that’s david gedge!” bizarre that he should get paid in cash after the gig but that’s what happened!

@ukpunk1 …I think he looks more like Robbie Williams!! How strange?
@ukpunk1 NOT AT ALL -__-”
Bastards…they are touring the Bizarro album,,,but no Scottish dates!!! WTF?
@dambers1 – Wot a bummer! I hope you get another chance soon.
missed these fuckaz last night due to shit weather
@ukpunk1 yeah, but he is actually a great guy, nice person, and in no way a stuck up primmadonna. I mean Im prolly getting flack for this, but Gedge is a cool guy to talk to, Morrisey is kind of a dick, never met him, but when he is on stage I think, wow, what a dick.
